In-City Relationships (on DW)

Justin is almost aggressively apathetic when it comes to his relationships with others.  Not all of this can be blamed on the City, but years of watching people come and go have made him even less inclined to form emotional attachments.  Some of the people who don't fall under the friend or foe category are people he is fairly fond of; he strongly dislikes others.  It just takes a good deal of fondness or dislike to earn anyone a spot in one category or the other.

SIDENOTE: Justin knows of more people than he actively talks to because he tends to keep an eye on the network out of habit.  He also knows more about many people than some might give him credit for.

FRIENDS

Electra
✘ Justin's thin, full-grown orange tabby. After being nameless for several months, she was finally given the name "Electra" after reading Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (a gift from Neil). Not as clever as his former cat, but she's very affectionate.

Neil Perry
✘ One of two very close friends and flatmate. A bit of a ringmaster.  He seems to be fitting as much living into his time in the City as possible.  Justin appreciates Neil's unflagging attempts to help him.

Todd Anderson
✘ One of two close friends, flatmate, and unnecessarily self-critical.  Shy and more retiring than Neil and a good writer.  Justin is repeatedly surprised by his quiet patience.

FOES

Luke Valentine
✘ Asshole vampire.

EVERYONE ELSE

Cain Hargreaves
✘ He has been in the City for a long time; a casual acquaintance

Carla
✘ Possibly psychotic, potential PTSD.  Vaguely terrifying.

Chase
✘ Knowledgeable.  Still waters run deep.

Chekov
✘ Police consultant and hacker of the highest caliber.

Jimmy Darmody
✘ Has Justin's face (plus three years, biologically). War veteran with a limp.

Korra
✘ She keeps getting in trouble; Justin has to keep arresting her. Korra hates him.

Lucy Locke
✘ Baffling and frighteningly outgoing.

Penny
✘ Excessively kind Welcome Center employee.

Rosella
✘ A long-time City resident and a close friend to Neil and Todd.

Solomon Goldsmith
✘ A long-time City resident.

Steve Rogers
✘ Current chief of police. Ridiculously reliable, terrible with the paperwork aspect of the job.

Yin
✘ A quiet girl who emotes even less than Justin does.

--------

OUT OF THE CITY

FRIENDS

Angela Montenegro
✘ An old friend and a bad influence.

Dean Winchester
✘ Chief of police; irresponsible, but a good person.  Basically.  Justin trusts him.

Dulcie
✘ Angel.  Unnerving, but endlessly patient.  Justin likes her.

Euphie
✘ Kind, caring, and beautiful.  A close friend.
♥ It's complicated, but they finally said that they love each other... six months after Euphie left the City.

Ken Ichijouji
✘ Wiser than his years; traded for Justin's life.  Justin isn't sure what to do or how to feel about Ken, but he is somewhat protective.

Mara Lesser
✘ Friend.  They share some issues.

Shilo
✘ Quirky, endlessly patient, fond of insects
♥ Former girlfriend (for a definition of 'girlfriend' that doesn't involve sex)

FOES

Gabriel
✘ Kidnapping corpse.

Karl
✘ Psychopathic vampire.

The Master
✘ He ate Justin and others alive and then left for a long while.  He's back and Justin is watching him.

EVERYONE ELSE

Angua
✘ Member of the police force.

The Archive
✘ An archive of information in the form of a small girl.

Beckett
✘ Former chief of police.  Convinced Justin that actual cops can be good people.

Charlie
✘ Can start fires.  She's actually nice.

Coulson
With the police (or just with Rogers, Justin is unsure). A decent person.

Eames
✘ He pops up a lot without bothering to introduce himself.

Elena Gilbert
✘ A hard-worker.  Has a secretarial position on the police force.

FICE
✘ Deity. Likes paperwork.

Frau
✘ Not wholly unlike Richard

Hanna
✘ Consultant. Oddly optimistic.

Howl
✘ He's... he exists.  That's about all Justin knows.

Huey Freeman
✘ Unlikely murder suspect and long-time city dweller.

Judith
✘ Fascinating ears (among other things) and highly intimidating.

Kaito
✘ A member of the police force.

Kenny
✘ Former tenant of the room Justin lives in. He left some... uh, dried herbs behind.

Ken Hidaka
✘ Long-time acquaintance.

Lacus Clyne
✘ Justin thought she was Euphie at first, but... she's not. She seems like a decent human, however.

LASZLO
✘ Deity. Likes science and possibly nothing else.

Mao
✘ Justin doesn't know the talking cat's name, but he knows that the cat talks.

Orihara Izaya
✘ Cryptic. Vaguely interesting.

Peter Vincent
✘ Possibly a sexual predator.  That, or an interesting psychological study.

Raiden
✘ A police force member with a military background.

Rose
✘ Kind young woman who took it upon herself to befriend Justin.

Rosiel
✘ Entirely insane.  Mother?

Rudy Miller
✘ Sometime-friend, sometime-foe, better at chess than Justin.

Setsuna
✘ Knew Rosiel.  Seems sane enough regardless.

Serrure
✘ Has been eaten by Karl, doesn't particularly like cops.

Shikieiki
✘ Interested in goings-on in the City.

Sif
✘ He doesn't know her name, but Justin recommended music to her.

Stephen
✘ Pleasant, knowledgeable about certain things, knows when to drink.

Theresa Gray
✘ An exceedingly polite young woman.

Toph
✘ Bizarre, mildly frightening, and wonderfully snarky.

Mr. White
✘ Seems like a decent-enough, sensible human.

---------------

Cassie
✘ After four years, she has become more of a symbol of failure and injustice than a person. Unfortunately, she's still a person.

Richard
✘ He's... Richard.  Richard can't be categorized.

Vera
✘ Pregnant Carla? He can't keep track of all of her.
